Dear Birger,
I keep just good memories of each and every time we had to work together. As you know, and I am sure I am not alone, I was always impressed by your extraordinary availability that I really appreciated with – on the top of that – your tireless happiness ;-). “life is good with me” you said to me each time. I guess that is a good way to see life. I wish all the best for your next step, whatever it is since I’m quite sure that retirement is probably coming but it is not your only option. I’m sure you will have good time far far north where you will also build for the future I understand.
Warm regards,
Vincent.

You fulfilled all your professional ambitions,
Now is the time to achieve your personal aspirations,
Retirement is the start of life’s golden phase,
Give your childhood dreams one final chase.
Happy retirement.

Did you still remember the BBC we had in Xi’an, the place is poor, but the food is good. You saved a lot budget for my first dinner with you, what an easy person you are?
Enjoy your retirement, possibly please come to Xi’an and we go for BBC again together!
Dear Birger,
Throughout your long career you have made a significant and lasting impact on the success of ABB’s capacitor business. Thank you for your many years of support of capacitors in North America and our customers here. Best wishes for happy and healthy next chapter in your life.
Best Regards,

Dear Birger,
As can be seen in the comments from colleagues around the world you have over the years been a great inspiration to so many of us. I have had the pleasure of working with you for almost 9 years and I want to say that for me it has been a real privilege. I am very grateful for the trust and confidence you placed in me already at an early stage. During the years I have learned a lot from you through all the talks and discussions we have had together.
You will surely be missed by all of us now that you choose to focus on other challenges and possibilities. I wish you and your family all the best. Enjoy your freedom!
